In 2013, Sheryl Sandberg wrote “Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead.” While it reminds women of our power and is very inspiring, one question it does not answer is this: What if you’re already leaning in…but no one is making room? That question inspired Infamous Mothers to begin designing a diversity, equity and inclusion series focused on “making room” for others in spaces that have historically denied them access. Dr. Sagashus has spent almost 20 years studying language, knowledge formation, hospitality, mothering, race, class and gender. She has packaged that information in an interesting and fresh approach to DEI training.
